A True Chesapeake Legend

Wind Song is a 1979 custom Chesapeake bugeye ketch — the last of her kind still sailing offshore.

Designed in the spirit of the classic 19th-century oyster dredgers, she combines shallow draft, narrow beam, and a heart of oak with modern rigging and systems. She’s traveled the East Atlantic, adventured the Bahamas, and still turns heads everywhere she goes. Refitted 2020–2025 with new sails, standing rigging, solar, electrical and full safety suite. This isn’t a production boat — this is a piece of living maritime history.

You do not ask a tame seagull why it needs to disappear from time to time toward the open sea.
It goes, that’s all.
— Bernard Moitessier
